Matthew (Jonathan Tucker) had a great night losing his virginity stuck in an elevator with a mystery girl. The problem is that the power was out and when he woke up, the girl was gone. There are 100 possibilities in the dorm and all he has are the panties. His roommate Rod is a neanderthal. There is Patty (Emmanuelle Chriqui) with muscle-bound boyfriend Crick. Arlene (Katherine Heigl) and teacher Ms. Stern (Aimee Graham) are dominating feminists. Cynthia (Jaime Pressly) overpowers Matthew with her beauty. Dora (Marissa Ribisi) is alone for her ugliness. Wendy (Larisa Oleynik) from Matthew's high school helps him cross-dress as Francesca.
As a comedy, this is not particularly funny. The jokes are simply not that funny. Matthew talks a lot and gets tiresome. There are plenty of beautiful girls in this movie and some of them play interesting if archetypal characters. This tries to be more than another teen comedy but fails to be truly deep. Playing foosball with Arlene is fun. The mystery girl could be a couple of the girls. Matthew should definitely end up with Wendy or Arlene and not Patty. There are some odd notes to hit at the end. Wendy's lesbianism comes out of nowhere. Patty's slut shame problem is badly constructed. This tries to do something but it does not come off perfectly.

Plot summary
This sexy, teen-comedy is about a freshman, Matthew, at college who meets his dream girl in a dorm elevator during a blackout. He never sees her face, but instantly falls in love. In the morning, the power is restored, but the "dream girl" has vanished. All Matthew knows is that she lives in an all-girls dorm. He sets out on a semester-long journey to find his mystery girl amongst a hundred female suspects. Could it be Wendy? Dora? Arlene? Patty? Cynthia? Or the 95 other girls, any of whom could have been in that elevator with Matthew.

not that funny
Love in an Elevator
During a power outage, geeky college freshman Jonathan Tucker (as Matt) has passionate sex in a dark elevator. For reasons unexplained, the coed manages to exit the elevator before Mr. Tucker emerges; apparently, he fell asleep. Tucker has only one clue - the young woman dropped her panties before leaving. His roommate James DeBello (as Rod) doesn't recognize anyone by sniffing the underwear and suggests Tucker find the panties' matching bra. Tucker has to investigate "100 Girls" to find his soul-mate. He infiltrates the girls' dorm in drag as "Francesca" and as maintenance man...
All of the women in this film are attractive, even the so-called "ugly" Marissa Ribisi (as Dora). Others are roughed-up Emmanuelle Chriqui (as Patty),domineering Katherine Heigl (as Arlene),secretive Larisa Oleynik (as Wendy) and model perfect Jamie Pressly (as Cynthia). There are brief topless scenes. We do not see how it is attached, but it hurts to watch Mr. DeBello wear a contraption which is supposed to enlarge his genitalia. For most of the running time, you see these weights hanging down from his shorts. The "100 Girls" characters may be college-aged, but the intended audience is younger.

not bad, but not good since Tucker can't pull the lead off
Geeky Matthew (John tucker) loses his virginity screwing some cooze during a blackout, the next morning she's nowhere to be found. So immediately falling in love with her, he goes on a quest to find this nameless girl who could be any of the 100 girls whom live in the dormitory. His roommate, Rod (James DeBello, better know for his part in the MUCH better Detroit Rock City) is there to act as a soundboard which Mat gets to tell his ideas too (and adds to the sophomoric teen comedy humor quota obviously). The film isn't that bad for a teen comedy, if you can get past the abundant pitiful similes, metaphors and the fact that Tucker doesn't really have the look to really pull off the shenanigans this movie wants us to readily believe. A couple of enormous hurdles indeed. it's not bad, but there are so many worthier teen comedies out there.
