I am amazed at all of the glowing reviews for this movie and Jessica Lowndes in her role as the "December Bride". I had seen it before, and apparently didn't hate it, but upon catching a few minutes of it here and there last night, I just have to articulate my frustration. Jessica Lowndes is gorgeous, glamorous, and stunning. This role, as a jilted, hurt, insecure young lady, needed a more Sandra Bullock type rather than a Scarlet Johannson or Angelina Jolie type. It needed someone we could feel sorry for and relate to. It needed an actress with some comic timing, not a line reader. Her acting was the worse I have ever seen in a Hallmark movie. She did not inhabit her part, I was just listening to an actress read her script with some expression. I am sure I will get nothing but "not helpful" votes for this. but I just had to get it off my chest.
In fact, I just looked up her resume and she has been in only one other Hallmark movie, Merry Matrimony. Same comments on her acting there, so now I know I am not crazy. Daniel Lissing was quite good, and she was probably the beneficiary of his reflected glory in this one.

A predictable yet cute movie
A December Bride is a 2016 festive made for TV romantic comedy about an interior designer named Layla who's heartbroken that her ex is marrying her cousin. She decides to pretend that she's engaged to a guy named Seth who works with her company only for their facade to turn into real romance. Will they or won't they get engaged for real in the end?.
The chemistry between the two main leads is nice.
I knew from the get go what was going to happen as the majority of romantic comedies which centres on a single woman posing as an engaged woman only to get the fake fiance in the end has been done do many times.
Fake enagement turns real
An above average Hallmark Christmas movie. Jessica Lowndes of 90210 is an interior decorator who loses her fiancé to her cousin. Later at her cousin's wedding the friend of her fiancé pretends to be her boyfriend and they launch into a charade of a fake engagements. Guess what - true love blossoms.
A major plus point is this movie avoids getting too annoying and avoids fake melodrama just before the end as in many Hallmark movies.
The dialog is okay and it's quite cute how she forgave her cousin and ex fiancé.
The McMansion doesn't look that great after the make over the interior decor could have been played up more. It was no extreme makeover home edition for sure.
Jessica is too beautiful to be dumped but it's okay.
Worth one watch.
