The synopsis for the 2012 South Korean comedy drama "5-baek-man-bool-eui Sa-na-i" (aka "A Millionaire on the Run") definitely sounded like this movie could be a fun movie to watch.
I hadn't heard about this movie from writers Seong-il Cheon and Ing-no Kim prior to sitting down to watch it. But with it being a South Korean movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I had to watch it, given my fascination and admiration for the Asian cinema.
Director Ik-ro Kim managed to turn the script and storyline into an adequately enough movie for the screen. Now, the movie wasn't an outstanding viewing experience, and it wasn't really as funny as I had initially expected it to be from the synopsis. But the movie was watchable, albeit not a particularly memorable one.
The acting performances in the movie were good, and they had some nice actors and actresses on the cast list to bring the characters to life on the screen.
"5-baek-man-bool-eui Sa-na-i" is the type of movie that you watch once and never return to again. The contents of the storyline and script just doesn't have enough punch to sustain more than a single viewing.
My rating of "5-baek-man-bool-eui Sa-na-i" lands on a mediocre five out of ten stars.
