This movie was so ridiculous that I couldn't get past the first 15 minutes. Terrible acting by every one. Child possessed, so a flock of priests come (6, count them),packed together in two rows. Women with picks, hitting concrete; group of people in the ground worshiping a painting? If I was part of the flock, I would have gone home immediately. So why a three?: beautiful scenery, beautiful building, multiple languages (that I could understand). What does that have to do with anything, you can tell it's a very low budget movie made in Europe, with all the neighbors working for free.
Plot summary
Acedia is set on a country estate where six priests are sent to rid a teenage girl of demons. While waiting for the ritualistic tenth hour, the priests start to uncover demons of their own as well as the dark secrets that haunt the estate. A small box created from wood made from Noah's Ark can make wishes come true. Once the wish is granted the souls are trapped in the dark corners of hell.

Talk about lousy!
Almost unbearable
A quote from somebody watching the movie: "This movie is almost unbearable." It is so poorly done, it is almost a comedy. The child actors deliver their lines like they're first reading them. The adult actors are not much better. I don't think they practiced their lines and emotions before it was time to shoot. It was like watching a church or school play. The editing is so bad that you can tell when the children messed up their lines (twice). The dialog is very stale, made worse by the aforementioned horrible acting. The plot makes almost no sense, with no sense of direction. The camera work is shaky and often out of focus. The special effects are so cheesy that it would be better to just omit them. Don't waste your time.
Shot on a low budget and well done
Another classic tale of selling your soul to the devil but this time this film is done in a very clever way. Several exhilarating milestones are achieved in Acedia, an excellent film version of Joe Ciminera's diabolical chilling imagination. So long as there are men in power who are still fuzzy on the definition of power this film will delight.I liked this one. There are some scary parts. This reviewer watches a lot of films. And for some reason no one likes to turn the light on when they enter a room. But it has a good plot.I am a huge fan of horror movies - and have to say it's been awhile since I've seen one that has creeped me out - was afraid to go home to an empty house after watching this one. Had me hooked from the beginning. I would see it again
