I found Anaïs in the movie much more interesting than Emma. Emma came across a little miserable. She reminded me of Kirsten Stewart. Her mother was kind of a irritant though and her bickering with her mom was funny. Anaïs when on screen kept the interest. She was likeable. Emma wasn't. Still worth watching.
Plot summary
Born in a small, provincial French town, Anaïs and Emma have been best friends since childhood. It's a friendship that's blind to differences in social backgrounds and character. Given incredible access, Sébastien Lifshitz painstakingly filmed Emma and Anaïs' transformation over the years, during a period when their physical, emotional and intellectual development is dramatic. We first meet them aged 13, their lives are dominated by boys, teachers and arguing with their mums. But as we witness them near adulthood, their journey is both fascinating and surprisingly moving. At the same time, the influence of their environment and family circumstances becomes increasingly apparent. New experiences, everyday conversations and events both personal and political anchor the film, creating a uniquely textured and deeply personal portrait of two young French women.

Your life is ruined if you don't go see this film.

Subjects of this film, au revoir, and good luck with your lives, and when you grow old youll be remembering, and surtainly not wanna be adolescent again when youre 50 in 2050. enjoy life and dont look too much back is my advice.
as a documentary i think this film had a lot of flaws, its utterly slow, its mostly filmed in close up shoots and thematically it could surtainly have been attacked from other angles and depth. what annoys me most is the lack of timeline, lack of information about where it all happens, the historical milestones are misplaced and not debated enough afterwards(charlie hebdo=nothing at all, the house fire mentioned once.) and for the foreign viewer the french educational system could easily have been elaborated 100% better.
therefore the grumpy old man didnt get much outta this film, its bla bla and i hate my mum stuff and cell phones en masse, at the plus section, good looking femmes
