I saw this one at TIFF. I thought director Kazik Radwanski was brilliant in this specific genre. It's sort of a muted cerebral piece with a lot of genuine close-up shots, but this is where he seems to shine!
I do agree with some others that Anne's journey as a character was a bit contrived. I like the messiness of her psychology though, and I think it lends itself to the story nicely. This one is definitely for the people interested in cinematography.

Plot summary
Anne at 13,000 ft centers on a precarious period in the life of its eponymous, Anne (Deragh Campbell),with her best friend Sarah (Dorothea Paas),27-year-old Anne works at a Toronto daycare, where she needlessly bickers with colleagues and is often more interested in fantasizing with the children than in supervising them. For Sarah's baccalaureate party, they go skydiving, and Anne seems completely in her element, floating above it all, a true departure from her strained, awkward professional and social interactions (such as the one with new boyfriend Matt, played by filmmaker Matt Johnson). Radwanski's signature hand-held style matches the way Anne fumbles through life. Tight close-ups offer further evidence of Campbell's remarkable, spiky performance, with her character's tremulous shifts in mood and sentiment efficiently portrayed by subtle swings in tone and body language.

A casual movie with redeeming qualities
Fab character study - infuriating protag
The lead actress does an incredibly good job at convey an incredibly annoying and obnoxious person on verge of mental breakdown. Nice, disorienting closeups too.
Tedious Amateur Effort Obviously Made as a Tax Writeoff
I couldn't bear to watch this movie. I thought I was watching the wrong thing - the actors are self-conscious and wooden so I though this was some kind of reality show about a tortured high school dropout.
AFAIC this had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Aviod.
