Appiness was directed by filmmaker Eli Batalion, who also made the web series YidLife Crisis. So much of it hits way too close to home, because I am in the midst of a career shift and as a result, I spend my evenings staring at the TV, worried that my life is about to fall apart.
So yeah. I get it.
Plot summary
When ERIC NEWMAN, a shy corporate professional on the cusp of his 30's, gets laid off out of the blue, a chance meeting with long-lost techie buddy RAJ PATEL leads to scheming on startup billionaire dreams. With the help of a grassroots team led by the multi-talented JEANINE GENET, Eric and Raj may just be on the road to riches, freedom and finding their true calling. But what starts off promising soon turns into a slippery slope of growing sacrifices, leading them to not just question what they should really be doing with their lives, but also, like, how long they have left to live.

Interesting
Loved it
Good IT startup comedy. As a rather critical cinephile I find it harder and harder to discover watchable movies. Liked this one. It's funny but not over the top, touch of tragedy, good acting. Don't expect a hilarious thigh slapper and you will be fine.
Couldn't get past the first minutes!
Am I missing something here? This film starts off so bad , like a badly acted children's movie, it just didn't make me want to waste any more time with it! I apologise if it got better but I rate a movie by the opening stanzas - if they are bad I don't hold much hope for the rest of the movie!
