Plot summary
Akshay Kumar plays a Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) agent in this espionage thriller, inspired by true events. The story follows this star undercover agent who goes by the code name 'Bellbottom'. After a plane is hijacked and lands in Amritsar, the seventh hijacking incident in five years, he is brought in to save the day. Akshay's character plans a daring covert operation to rescue 210 hostages and neutralise four hijackers. Vaani Kapoor plays his wife while Huma Qureshi features as one of his team members. Lara Dutta looks almost unrecognisable as former prime minister Indira Gandhi.

How long Bollywood will keep making historically inaccurate movies?
I watched the trailer then i read the wiki page of the movie and the incident. This movie is banned in 3 countries because the events depicted are inaccurate.
This is 2021 and a period when India is making great content in film and television. In midst of such a wonderful era we get films like this. If this was a straight-to-DVD flick it'd be ok. But this is a film which is heavily marketed and has one of the best superstars of Bollywood in the lead role. The trailer itself is cringe. It is very sad, most viewers will think of the events depicted in this film are true.

When the trailer was out I had zero expectations from the movie as it was dud and I generally don't like movies of Akshay Kumar somehow I liked Hera pheri and Holiday. So I went to watch this movie without expecting anything but trust me the movie was worse than what I was expecting. Screenplay is very boring. Songs are very bad. Only Lara dutta's acting was good. Vfx used in the climax is like video game.
Length of the movie is 2 hrs but you will feel like 4 hours in theater.
Overall Bellbottom is not only a bad movie but also a torture for the eyes for it's repetitive storyline. It is the mixture of Bollywood movies like baby, holiday and Ye Dil Ashiqana. This movie is more contagious than Covid19. Avoid this movie if you want to stay alive. Watch Bhuj the pride of India instead. The name of this movie should have been Rock bottom.
