First of all i dont even know how is this movie rated so high,9.3 for this kind of movie,this is definitely an overrated movie,i watched movie with zero expectations and i would say it is not a bad movie but it is not a great movie,it is a good attempt but it could have been better,had this movie had focussed more on reality and less on commercialisation

This film is very ambitious. It wants to be everything to everyone. but instead of being a grand epic for India, it falls a bit short. There are three things in the film that have problems for Mahesh Babu, the lead actor. He is excellent. The dramatic scenes and screenwriting are excellent as well. Even the initial Bollywood number at the beginning of the film is excellent. The additional four Bollywood numbers, however, detracted from the dramatic effect of the film. And even worse than the unnecessary extra Bollywood numbers were the completely unnecessary martial arts sequences that were obviously created to attract the "action" audience. But this is not an action film; and the violence is fairly muted. The exceptional performance of the godfather bad guy is very measured and not over the top. However, one must consider there would have been some gunplay other than the lame assassination attempt in one scene. This was the third weakness of the film, the inability of an Indian Political Mafia not using any weapons. Please. If one guy could shoot Gandhi, then this guy could have been killed ten times over. Despite these obvious shortcomings, the film is still highly entertaining, and has some very good political observations about India. Even the hero's Gandhi-Michael Jackson-Bruce Li persona is ok as long as the dramatic element is maintained. Every time a solid foundation of dramatic effect was reached by the superb script, it was ruined by another Bollywood number. You cannot make a light-hearted film about murder, corruption, countryside suffering and other serious issues; the film must be made seriously, like old Rey movies. Trying to please everyone in the audience with a film is a fatal error most of the time, but this films escapes that fate because of the great script.
