This film paints an accurate picture of the toxic environment in which we are. The film shows us that the canker of intolerance of divisive politics is slowly spreading in our society.
SonyLIV Bhonsle is a film whose value should not be measured by its content, but by the way, the content is presented. The story does not waste time to keep its point, but every scene tells a story of its own.
Mirat Trivedi, Devashish Makhija, and Sharanya Rajgopal have written an accurate and useful screenplay. The story also tells the truth of how politics operates in the lower classes.
The story is slow, and viewers find themselves wondering where the story is at one point. In the first half, there could be a boom. But not everyone will enjoy sitting through the film.
The film shows us that wily politicians have mastered the British art of division and governance that makes illiterate people wicked and turn on their fellow humans.
The story is rhythmic in its case and works more effectively than telling the essence.
It is primarily a one-person show. Manoj Bajpayee is quite outstanding. In his case, I would say that he did not choose the role, the role chose him.
Bajpayee is Bhonsle, Bhosle is Bajpayee. You can't close your eyes for a while to see them. Manoj Bajpayee is a symbol of acting in today's day and age.
The actor plays a character with bare minimum words. All other artists give adequate support with their restrained performances.
Bhonsle gets a lot of support from Ipshita and Virat Vaibhav. Both enhance Bajpayee's performance. We would have loved to see more of Abhishek Banerjee.
Devashish Makhija is the director of this film who does not attempt to promote. He only comes to tell a story, and he inspires Goosebumps.
Bhonsle is a film that is full of great technical aspects. The camera work in this film is excellent.
Jigmet Wangchuk's cinematography threaded, straightforward narrative and visual poetry together.
His camera and simple shots increase the seriousness of the story.
The background music gives the perfect touch.
The story of Bhonsle is not thick. This is a simple story that has been told in different ways. Every cinema lover should see the Bhonsle movie on SonyLIV.
Plot summary
Through 'Bhonsle' we have tried to ask that most pressing question of our times - who is a Migrant? What defines someone as an Outsider to a land? Where is that line that demarcates boundaries? Who decides who stands inside and who stands outside of that line? If each of our histories is traced back far enough are we all not migrants to our lands in some way or another? Can Man even stake claim to Land? When did we become so arrogant as a species? And finally, at what cost, this arrogance?

Every cinema lover should Watch this
Watch This For MANOJ BAJPAYEE.
Be it any character Manoj Bajpayee pull off the role with perfection. Santosh Juvekar and Ipshita Chakraborty are also very good in the film. This is a very slow pace movie, that's why may be very few amount of people will watch it. This movie will remind you of 2016 short film Taandav in some moments. This type of movie need to be cherished by all.

Humanary and Technical efforts tried to arouse dead script but fairly fell short.
Bhonsle (2020) : Brief Review -
Humanary and Technical efforts tried to arouse dead script but fairly fell short. Bhonsle somewhere exposes the desperation of industry (Bollywood or digital whatever you say) that we're running short of stories so we are gonna take on any small and dead script, no matter if the outcome fails to rouse the overall context. The story is about a retired Police servant who is seeking for an extension but won't get because of health issues. The 2nd plot is about political agenda of Marathi vs Outsiders and their fights. Somehow writer manages to link these 2 plots but overall context doesn't reach to it's destination. Manoj Bajpayee gets a pretty silent role and it is so lame to see him not speaking much in the film. I am a fan of his dialogue delivery and Bhonsle didn't really care about it. Santosh Juvekar and Ipshita Singh were in better position to get a chance to explore regional accent and characters. The script of Bhonsle lacks clarity because even after such a slow paced narrative and sketchy storytelling the big question still remains unanswered that What was it actually? What were they trying to show or prove? Screenplay is faulty and digressive which left so many loopholes and incomplete scenes to point at easily. After so many mistakes if you ask What is the Best thing about Bhonsle? It's Cinematography and Direction. I haven't seen such a technically superior cinematography in any recent Digital product. Those blur moments, close focus and the vision of showing God in almighty avtar everything is brilliant. Director had the vision to showcase the product in skillful manners that can be noticed but spoiled by bad writing. One more fault is marathon and glide shots taken for ordinary scenes which makes it even more slow and almost unbearable. Overall, Bhonsle is strictly average product considering the motive and impact of the content but efforts of all actors, cinematographer and director are above par level.
