Bingo Hell (2021) is a movie recently released that I watched on Amazon Prime. The storyline follows some down on their luck people in a small neighborhood desperate for some hope and luck. Well today is their lucky day as a new bingo hall opens offering both. There may be something a little different about this bingo hall. This movie is directed by Gigi Saul Guerrero (episodes of the Purge television series) and stars Adriana Barraza (Babel),L. Scott Caldwell (The Fugitive),Richard Brake (31),Grover Coulson (Friday Night Lights) and David Jensen (Ocean's 11). The storyline is actually pretty good in this as they do a great job establishing the characters and sense of community. The family dynamics are well developed causing you to genuinely care about what happens to the victims. The cast is perfectly selected and fit the characters well. The settings are excellent and unique and Guerrero did a wonderful job on the cinematography, lighting and camera angles. My biggest complaint was mediocre kill scenes that relies more on blood splatter than gore, but that's just a preference thing I guess. Overall this is a above average addition to the genre that's worth a viewing. I'd score this a 6.5-7/10.

Ultimately a disappointing movie...
"Bingo Hell" wasn't exactly a movie title that just screamed for attention. I happened to stumble upon this 2021 horror comedy in 2022, and I hadn't even heard about it before. I didn't know what the movie was about, who starred in it, or anything. I knew that it was an Amazon original movie and it was a horror comedy movie, and that was about it.
And just having finished watching writers Shane McKenzie, Gigi Saul Guerrero and Perry Blackshear's 2021 movie, I can't claim that I was overly impressed with the storyline. Sure, "Bingo Hell" was watchable, but it was by no account a memorable or outstanding horror comedy.
The storyline was sort of ridiculous and rather pointless actually. And it was difficult to find much enjoyment in the movie.
I will say that I was thrilled when I saw that Richard Brake was in the movie, and yeah it was definitely the highlight of the movie that he was there and he definitely put on an interesting performance. Just a shame that the storyline was just such rubbish.
I found very little entertainment in "Bingo Hell", so I wasn't impressed with director Gigi Saul Guerrero's movie. And this is not a horror comedy that I would recommend you rush out to get your hands on. Watch it if you get the chance and if you have nothing better within hands reach.
My rating of "Bingo Hell" lands on a three out of ten stars.
Maybe I'm odd Bingo Hell is pretty enjoyable!
Richard Brake is an excellent villain and holy crap the horror bits are awesome! I understand the hate for sure but if you don't take it seriously and just enjoy for being a horror nerd you'd probably enjoy it too. The main old ladies are kinda enjoyable to watch. Some scenes are ridiculous for sure otherwise I really appreciate this weird amazon treat.
