It is a fun Mashup of 80s slasher loveletter and goofy satire of the genre. It wears its worship of the golden age of slashers on its sleeve while not being afraid to poke fun at the trappings of the genre. True horror geeks, like myself, will love the tons of slasher movie Easter eggs. Everyone involved seems like they had a blast. It doesn't take itself seriously and neither should you. Grab some beers and strap yourself in.

Fun to see a throw-back actress in the mix here (Felissa Rose) as the young "girl" (Angela) in Sleepaway Camp all those years ago, which is a timeless raunchy horror classic. I spotted the name, which drew me in as a possible sleepaway camp clone, and more-or-less it was a very low budget project like I expected. Still, I had to see what it was capable of, because of a similar (technically poor) obscure gem: Bloody Bloody Bible Camp. What made this movie entertaining, just like BBBC, is the goofy, exploitive, over-the-top characters and cheesy (but humorous) bits of dialogue. The "It's my kitchen" cook is a great character for sure, and I was grinning ear to ear every time he was on screen. The gore effects were better than I would have expected, which is a bonus. All-in-all, it kind of fizzled out towards the end, but I ultimately enjoyed it and had some good chuckles. Again, if you watch this because you are scraping barrels looking for raunchy kid camp horror, then you've already seen Sleepaway camp(s) and all the other camp-based 80's horror, but also take a look at Bloody Bloody Bible Camp (2012). It's not a technical wonder either, but it has some unexpected entertainment value.

Are you kidding me? Bad acting and inconsistencies? LOL. This is a B comedy/horror. You are expecting oscar performances and award winning storyline? This is pretty good for what's it is. Some funny scenes and very surprising good gore.
