Elaine is nearly eighteen years old when both her parents are killed in a road accident. She is taken to live with her only relative, an aunt with whom she has had no previous contact. Her new home is Hickville, USA, although it is called a town, it has less than a hundred inhabitants.
"Bloomfield" has been likened to "Rosemary's Baby". Whether or not that is a fair comparison, it is extremely confusing with flashbacks and/or dream sequences. Yes, there is an element of horror to it, but it helps if the plot is relatively easy to follow, if indeed there is a plot. Seriously, this could have been much better, but it fails whichever way you look at it.
Plot summary
After the death of a young woman's parents, Elaine goes to live with her eccentric Aunt Tilda whom she's never met before in a quiet mountain town, Bloomfield.

Gotta counter those friends & family reviews
As I write this, there are 6 reviews posted for this flick. 5 rate it 8 or above; 1 rates it a 2. That's a pretty big gap and, having seen the movie, I can only guess that the positive reviews are less than objective.
The writer, director, and lead actress on this project is a decent enough actress, and not unpleasant to look at. I can't honestly compliment her directing and writing skills based on this effort.
The remainder of the cast ranged from hammy to amateur. The main antagonist, narrating with a comically overdone stereotype of a southern drawl, kept reminding me of Catherine O'Hara doing Moira Schitt's crow movie, but without Ms. O'Hara's wit or class.
As for the plot, the other honest reviewer here stated that "it took forever for the narrative to go nowhere," and I can't think of a better way to put it. The flick just went on and on, but never progressed. Slow and unoriginally derivative, watching paint dry is more satisfying, and about a suspenseful. Same amount of horror, too.
What is different between this movie and watching paint dry is that the latter doesn't hint at a sequel as this movie did, which was about as horrific as anything to be found here. Just say no.
Move along people; nothing to see here.
This is your slow burn horror, but worth the watch.
If you are looking for jump/scare/slasher or gore and that is how you want to review it, move on this ain't for you. Do I feel you should still watch it yes, but don't review it as one of those genre.
As Horror goes this has a slow burn, I would say it takes some time to build. This movie takes an old school horror flavor and places some new twang to it.
I will start off by saying my horror take on this movie is why I didn't give it a 10, no disrespect to the writer, director, or producer ect.. some people have a different perspective of horror. In my opinion this was more if a thriller/horror then a straight up horror film.
There are alot of pros in this film enough for me to log in and review it and enough for me to encourage you to watch.
Acting - as it goes for most for an indie type of movies the acting normallie looks like high school kids spitting out lines and trying to remember what comes next.
But not here the acting in this movie was remarkable from the accents to the delivery of the lines. The parts were played as they should have been. Clear delivery and looking the part.
Production was also well produced along with cinematography. Most if the time when you watch one of these types of movies there is low film production with an airy sound and looks like kids filming a play. This film and cinematography was high end looking and not cheap poor quality. I was very impressed.
Ok now I am sure most of you are like get to the point, well my point is I could tell you all about this movie and spoil it for you. And tell you the plot but these would all just be my opinions and most of y'all may disagree... What I can tell you Is that I have seen a lot of bad movies high end horror on Netflix and prime. And this movie as I stated early on is a slow burn there are times I even was like come on let's go but the director is building the story and I understand that. The one thing I will say is that I feel that there was more to the sorry line and parts may have been cut out due to budget but I do not know for sure, would definitely like to see this movie uncut if there is such a thing. Bottom line is you don't have to take my word for it but if you made it this far you might as well check out this movie.
The talent alone is worth the watch. I hope to see more from this producer/ director because I see real potential for future movies and also from the cast because they really are a great cast.
- I mean they have been winning film fest so why not give it a go. Grab you some nachos and rent this movie.
