Dalton Hunt (Schiena of the awful The Number One Girl fame) retires from the Revolution Fight Club (RFC) after a sparring match gone wrong put his friend Wyatt (Cain) in a wheelchair for life. Five years after this tragic event, he is forced to fight for the RFC to fulfill his contract, which requires "one last fight". His opponent just happens to be the scary, mohawked badass Colin "The Brick" Wahle (Herring). Dalton must train harder than ever before or his family will be put out on the street by RFC boss Victoria (Ling).
Did you expect something BESIDES a beat-em-up fight fest starring a cast of mainly meatheads? In these movies, either someone is being beat up, or doing the beating. There are many slow-motion fight scenes so the experience is extra-meatheady. The film is a 90-minute training sequence. It is also a 90-minute advertisement for TapOut enterprises, Inc. All rights reserved.
Kimbo Slice, despite his top billing and prominent appearance on the box art, has merely a cameo. He gets beaten up by the main star, as per usual in his punchfighting movie cameos (i.e., "Unrivaled" (2010),etc.) "The Brick" speaks in short soundbites only. For example "This fight is already over", and before he kicks Frank Mir (in another cameo) in the face in a random parking lot brawl, states "It's kickoff time".
The movie is enjoyable because it delivers what you want. There is a great punch to one of the baddies. Beware the trailer, as it gives away all the cool parts. If you are looking for a decent straight-to-video beat-em-up, and don't mind the crass commercialism, watch "Circle of Pain" today.

"It's kickoff time!"
So bad it's not even funny
This film looks like it was filmed and written in a day. Ridiculous 'action' scenes, dialogue that must have been written by a 10 year old, truly awful music that didn't fit any scene and 'acting' that defies belief. When Dean Cain is head and shoulders the best actor in it you know you have reached the bottom of the lowest barrel. And even this is his worst performance by some margin.
It begs the question who is this film aimed at? My kids sort of liked it but they are way below the 15 age rating, so if that is the target audience why the nudity and bad language? I fail to believe that anyone with half a brain over the age of 13 would enjoy this joke of a film.
Without doubt this in the top 5 most pathetic movies I have ever watched, if not the most pathetic. Not one redeeming feature could be found except mercy of mercies it is a short film and for that I was truly truly grateful.
90 minutes of pain
I was allowed to screen this, and I don't consider that a privilege.
This movie is as bad as fighting movies comes; yes, even worse than Dead or Alive.
Standard plot. A righteous hero with personal problems, who is forced to fight and must regain all his past skills by training and fighting scrubs before stepping into the ring against the evil guy at the end. Of course his trainers are his best friend and an old dude.
Horrible acting. The actors and lines are better in most soaps. It's hard to say if it's the script or the actors, since both is really really bad. Horrible writing combined with terrible actors doesn't exactly create Oscar winning dialog.
Towards the end, we get some soft-core pornography without any context at all. Normally a sex scene adds to the plot or story of the film or its characters. These just seem like they were forced in there because fans of action movies expect it or because the producers had to fill in some blank tape ("hey we got 10 minutes to fill, why don't you fool around a bit and we put it in somewhere?").
The fighting? I didn't care much for it, but then again, I'm not a martial arts fan. With characters this badly written and actors not doing a great job, I lost most interest in whoever would win the various fights, and a small bit of me hoped that they would all loose. That would at least give the movie a moral of fighting being uncool.
It gets two stars since I remember having seen a worse movie - I just can't remember which. As entertaining as getting drop kicked.
