One of these so-called thrillers that just turned out to be a convoluted and dreary mess of a movie. I did watch it to the end to see how the heck it would play out. But then when it did finally end all I could say was huh? I would say save your time and money and avoid.

Left me cold
Saw 'Cold Blood' due to seeing some potential in it, despite it not being well received. While action is not my favourite genre, that still doesn't stop me appreciating it as there are classics in it and it has been done well many times. Absolutely love thrillers, mystery and thriller are my favourites when it comes to genres and there are classic mysteries and thrillers too. Love animation as well but there is debate as to whether that is a genre or not.
Unfortunately, can see why 'Cold Blood' got the chilly (sorry) reception it has. It is not irredeemable, but it left me completely cold. Although there are decent things, there are more bad things than halfway decent, let alone good, ones. Unluckily for 'Cold Blood', the bad things are very, very bad, the worst being terrible. Am not in any way trying to be mean, it's just my genuine frustrated feelings as also anything with Jean Reno in it should be at least watchable as he has talent and in a type of role that suits him to the ground.
Compared to the other actors, and compared to most of the other components, Reno comes off quite reasonably. He has been much better in films that have much more tension or thrills, but he does show some degree of authority and intensity and do still do think that this is a type of role that suits him.
The other element that is good is the scenery. The scenery and locations are really quite beautiful and evoke a lot of atmosphere, the slick photography doesn't do anything to waste it. The music isn't too bad either, it's not inappropriate and didn't overbear things.
Reno is the only actor that works here. Everybody else do not look as if they are enjoying themselves one bit in types of roles you have seen so many times before and a trillion times better. Even Samantha Bond with far too little to do. There is nothing endearing or interesting about the lead actress, whose actions towards the end fail to make sense and leave the viewer shaking their head thinking "how can she be so stupid?" The direction has the visual style right but momentum and dramatic coherence lack badly.
Furthermore, the script has a "written in a few days by a script-writing rookie" vibe throughout, it is just so underwritten and cheesy-sounding with hardly any intrigue at all and completely devoid of logic. What single-handedly wrecks 'Cold Blood' is the story, the execution of which is disastrous. Momentum is pretty much none and the too few times there is action there is a complete lack of excitement. The story is completely thrill-free, which is something of a problem for a thriller, and idiocy-heavy, with the ridiculous and borderline incoherent last act faring worst.
In conclusion, nice scenery and visual style and above-competent Reno but very weak. 3/10
Incredibly boring
COLD BLOOD LEGACY is an extremely bad would-be thriller that offers a starring role for Jean Reno and absolutely nothing else. The budget looks to be virtually the same as an indie feature, and half the plot is a reworking of LEON relocated to an icy cabin in the snowy mountains. Reno looks old and tired and is given nothing new to do, but the worst part of this is the endless cutting away to other, boring characters who eat up at least half of the running time. It's one of the most boring films I've seen in a long time.
