Sara (Desiree Akhavan) is an aspiring filmmaker who films strangers from Craigslist for her YouTube channel. With few views, she answers a mysterious Craigslist ad for a videographer to do a day's work for $1000. She finds a man (Mark Duplass) using the name Aaron, the name of his victim in the first movie. He claims to be a serial killer with 39 kills. He wants to bare his soul to her although she's uncertain about his claim's truthfulness.
I am growing tired of the found footage camera POV style. I'm almost as tired about another character with his/her own Youtube channel. I suggested in the first movie to find a more compelling actor, possibly female, to act opposite Duplass. At least, that happened. Akhavan is a more compelling actor but I don't particularly care about her character. Instead of trying to be NOW with her Youtube channel, she should be doing crappy boring filming jobs and wanting something exciting and different. I don't care if a Youtube personality gets killed. From that point on, it's an uphill battle to make me care. Some of this is interesting but like the first movie, non of it is that scary. People say it's creepy and moody. It's creepy up to a point but it's too slow. Not every scene works and when they don't work, they are boring. It's a mumblecore indie trying to be a horror and failing to scare me.

Plot summary
Sara's a video artist whose work primarily explores the intimacy of lonely men. One online advert intrigues her so much, she replies, thinking she may have found the subject for her next project. She drives to a secluded house in the forest, where a man claiming be the advert's poster greets her; and as he said in the posting, he claims to be a serial killer (Mark Duplass). Unable to resist the chance to create a truly shocking piece of art, she agrees to spend the day with him. But, as the day progresses, she realises she might've put herself into a position from which she can't escape.

Sequel to a film which didn't need one
CREEP 2 is a lacklustre follow-up to a film which really didn't require a sequel at all, being as self-contained as it was. This is another found footage two-hander about a woman who answers a job advert and comes to work for an exceptionally creepy guy. Given that we now know about the villain there's no need for a twist ending, so violence takes place earlier. However, this is mainly reliant on jump scares and the like which feels very predictable, and more wolf mask antics just feel predictable by now. The twist ending barely raises an eyebrow.
Legacy
It makes sense to have seen the first one. And if you have, the beginning will make you cringe a little bit. It also sets up the mood for our lead and his inner turmoil so to speak. Something he voices when he hires the other character. Now the dark humor of the first is here and there are the usual schticks and twists around the way. There is also reminders of what is to come and where it all leads to in the end.
So it is more about the journey than the actual end of the movie. And it can get pretty obnoxious, as did the first one. It's not really the fault of the main actor (he's obviously having a blast tearing down the fourth wall and every other wall for that matter),though our new other character has some charisma issues to say the least. And while it was on the way to better the first (something fans of the first and me agree on),the end almost tears it down altogether ... and I don't mean the twist ... I mean the final scene ... try to make sense of that
