Four friends become four dumb criminals when a huge investment deal turns sour and realise that the money for the investment came from an underworld criminal boss who wants his money back.
Noah (Dan Stevens),Zach (Michael Pitt),Warren (Christopher Abbott) and Bryce (Rob Brown) are offered a get out deal by mobster Eddie (John Travolta) who wants them to kidnap a rival gangster Marques, because he has kidnapped Eddie's niece and he would later wipe the slate clean.
Gerry (Jackie Earle Haley) is a henchman for Eddie supposedly trying to locate Eddie's niece. The four of them kidnap the rival gangster and wait for further instructions. In the meantime Marques plays with their heads that causes tensions.
Jackie Earle Haley directed the film as well as appearing in it. Travolta has a glorified cameo with his awful hairpiece and his presence makes you hark back to those twisty Tarantino type thrillers. There is a 'The Usual Suspects' type denouement which lifts the film from being truly dreadful but it is too little and too late for what is a humdrum and wearisome film.

Plot summary
Pic is about four young guys who reunite at an ex-classmate's funeral. One mentions to the others inside information on a stock that is a guaranteed lock to make them instant millionaires. Unfortunately, the deal goes south along with their investment. Things go from bad to worse: one of them borrowed his share of the money from a mobster.

Look at it this way
THIS IS WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS
The film starts out with a funeral, followed by four of his buddies having a drink and smoking a doobie. Zach (Michael Pitt) is a portfolio manager and is engaged to Janie (Morgan Wolk). Noah (Dan Stevens) was the class geek. He was bullied and is still a bit socially awkward. Bryce (Rob Brown) has a hot stock tip. And Warren (Christopher Abbott) rounds out the foursome.
It starts out innocent enough as Noah was able to come up with the money for our foursome to invest in Bidexco stock. As fate would have it the stock fails. Noah borrowed the money from the mob and Eddie (John Travolta) wants his money with interest. Clearly our guys don't have the money, so they reluctantly agree to kidnap Marques (Edi Gathegi) for Eddie so he can exchange for his kidnapped niece.
The film flows in a dark, quirky and sometimes twisty manner. Then at the very end the film twists in multiple ways which frankly I didn't see coming.
Travolta looked like he is using Botox and his hair looked like it was plastic. Good crime/drama/thriller with some dark humor.
Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity (Morgan Wolk)
