If your heart beats like mine to the rhythm of this lovely film, you will feel the desperation of the young men and the limitations of the elders. I've been a psychiatrist for 50 years, and I learn from this film that the older men who love younger men are recapitulating the love of their mothers for them, as that love is selfish superficial, and harmful.

Plot summary
DEDALUS is a fiction triptych portraying community, love, and loss. In rural Iowa, a grocery cashier watches helplessly as classmates conceal their act of sexual violence against his teenaged step-sister. Will she keep the child? A hustler tricks for food, shelter, and intimacy during a winter in New York City. A young woman takes him in, but nothing satiates his unrequited love for an older gay client. Mortality compels a father to leave his home in Los Angeles and move in with his daughter. Jonah Greenstein's gorgeously shot feature debut laces loneliness with beauty to create a film of startling cinematic intimacy.

painfully real and true to love and its lack. Thank you Jonah.
Dull, incoherent and pointless
I usually write a summary of the initial plot of a movie at the beginning of my reviews. For me, it's a way to introduce the film and my review. In this film's case, however, I am unable to. There really is no plot, it's all over the place.
And that's the way it stays for the entire movie. Just one dull, random scene after another. There's no character engagement as you don't know or care enough about the characters.
Incredibly dull and pointless. Avoid.
Waste of time
A triptych? Is that what it's called? I'd day it was an utter, boring, meaningless mess. Unconnected scenes, repetition, unexplained characters, and "clever" use of the camera which was in fact clichéd.
None of this said anything to anyone. The acting was so poor as to be wooden. It couldn't be anything else as the script was so monotonous.
I have a confession to make. I got a WhatsApp call at 38 minutes into the film. I took the call and switched back into the film a few minutes later. And then I changed my mind and clicked the film off. I just knew this was not going to get any better. I have no sense of having possibly missed something or regret at not having seen the ending.
Honestly, don't bother. Sorry this is a short review - they are usually longer, but this was so awful that there's little to be said except watch virtually anything else.
