I have seen this in 1991 when my Mom recorded it with her VCR, as well as YouTube. This is a great movie.

Plot summary
Two young kids in love, one young graffiti artist and the other a foster-child, find trouble on the mean streets on the other side of the river in New York City. Officer Charles Banks finds young Danny tagging subway cars and then catches Teiresa selling drugs for another misled teen, Kirk. The officer, instead of turning both of them in, gives both teens a chance to make more of their lives together. Changing their ways turns out to be more challenging than first thought.

I first saw this movie on TV when it aired in 1982. I loved it, and the story has stayed with me all these years.

Surprisingly good.
Scrolling through PlutoTV & found this on the 80's rewind channel. It had guy from Escape from & Return to Witch mountain so I figured I'd give it a shot. Very well done all the way around, great casting, dialogue, locations, & storytelling. I highly recommend this to anyone.
