1) The Good - There are (just about) three generations in Fashionably Yours - so it's safe for multi-gen households plus there's a variety of skin tones.
2) The Kind Of Bad - This movie aired in April 2020, but it feels like it was also written and made in the pandemic because nothing much happens! I'm not quite sure how they filled all the time, probably mainly pushing clothes and boxes around. It's got a kind of back-to-front plot, with the biggest decision happening fairly early, so it doesn't really build to a crescendo - but kudos for trying to be different as it does make a change from all the other city-versus-country movies.
3) And The Beautiful - Normally urban-v-rural films are boosted by great scenery but this flick is defo about fashion and design, with good looking actors and trendy/cast-off products being the focus rather than any life-affirming countryside views. Even though I'm a design graduate, I prefer the latter because style-conscious shows soon look dated ... although I don't think I'll rewatch this much as I kept falling asleep, rewinding, then realising there'd been nothing to miss. Ironically it's not one I could watch to fall asleep at night as her ringtone keeps going off!
Fashionably Yours is nice enough, but it didn't really fit me.

Mixed feelings
Was very mixed on the 2020 Spring Fling Hallmark films, with them ranging between mediocre and pretty good. Of the previous two, 'Just My Type' was enjoyable whereas 'You're Bacon Me Crazy' was rather average. The title for 'Fashionably Yours' was a curious one and when reading the synopsis it seemed like there was a mismatch between title and synopsis. While the 2020 Hallmark in general were very variable, there were some pretty good and more ones.
'Fashionably Yours' for me was not one of those pretty good and more ones. There are certainly far worse Hallmark films from that year, but this was one of the films that left me mixed and being unsure how to rate and review it. 'Fashionably Yours' is far from terrible and is a tolerable effort, with some good if not outstanding things. It is also one of the 2020 Hallmark films that is not particularly good and could have been better. It also could have done more with the setting.
As said, there are certainly good things. Most of the production values are fine, the scenery was often eye catching with Hallmark regardless of any authenticity and it is here. The music didn't feel too constant or overdone, serving its purpose well with nothing offensive if not much distinctive.
Kat Graham is a delight, she radiates cheerful joy and is so charming. She does have some nice playful chemistry with Kendrick Sampson, despite not being as taken with his performance. Did like the light-hearted banter.
However, 'Fashionably Yours' could have been better. Sampson too often comes over as too stiff and his line delivery sounded on the muffled side. The supporting cast are merely competent but nobody stands out or are memorable. There could have been a lot more development to the characters, who are stock stereotypes and not much here (the only one developed that well is Graham's). The editing agreed did seem on the choppy side.
The direction is again competent if undistinguished and merely functional. Other than the banter, the dialogue could have flowed a lot more naturally and there could have been less of it perhaps. The story is pretty weak, the predictability factor is high throughout despite a few differences from the formula and moves at too slow a pace. With it taking a while to get to the point. The final act is on the contrived and too tidy side, not uncommon with Hallmark.
Overall, tolerable if pretty average. 5/10.
Loved the show, found myself giggling a lot from most of the humor in it!
Every show affects each person differently. So if someone thought it was boring to bad for them not getting into it.
I myself found it nice and followed the story line just fine. The characters had great chemistry and I enjoyed the show very much! Thank you Hallmark!
