This stars the latest Disney princess. It's Halloween and Wren (Victoria Justice) just wants to party with her best friend (Jane Levy). Instead her mother (Chelsea Handler) insists that she takes her little brother out for trick or treat. While out, she loses her brother and a mad cap search for him begins.
Josh Schwartz who wrote and produced TV shows Gossip Girl, Chuck, and The O.C. directs this teen movie. The movie does have potential. The leads are likable. A night of crazy adventure is usually fun and compelling. Keeping the kid silent was a mistake, and a better rewrite was needed. The search is completely illogical. The kid lacks charisma and not talking doesn't help any. Although Victoria Justice has the charisma to lead this movie which is the most important aspect.

Plot summary
Sardonic Wren (Victoria Justice) hails from an unusually dysfunctional family. She can't wait until she escapes to college and leaves them all behind, but in the meantime, an invitation to the biggest Halloween party in the area at least offers her an excuse to get out of the house for a night. But when Wren is placed on babysitting duty so her mother can dash out and party with her handsome young boy toy, the dejected teen reluctantly takes her little brother Albert out for a night of trick-or-treating. Later, when Albert vanishes into a sea of costumed kids, his panicked sister enlists the help of her best friend April, wannabe womanizer Peng, and his charmingly geeky pal Roosevelt to track down her missing brother, and get him safely back home while their mother remains none the wiser. Meanwhile, over the course of one wild and unpredictable Halloween night, the group's frantic search lands them in some pretty outlandish situations, and provides Roosevelt with the perfect opportunity to impress his longtime crush Wren.

Misadventures in Babysitting at Halloween.
Although made in association with Nickelodeon. This is aimed at older kids. A slightly risque teen comedy of a night of misadventures.
Teenager Wren (Victoria Justice) has to babysit her younger brother Albert. He is naughty but has been silent for a year since their father died.
Their mom is going out on Halloween with her toyboy. Wren takes her costumed brother out trick or treating but he gets lost. Wren and her friend April band together with some nerds to look for Albert.
The movie is not without charm but it is too scatterbrained and tonally all over the place. It is really a tribute to John Hughes, who would effortlessly makes these types of movies back in the 1980s.
Halloween Size
I have to admit, the title did not really tell me much about what was about to happen or be inside this movie. I was expecting a comedy and it works on that level (in some degree),but I did not see the Halloween theme ... and the teenage boys/girls love themes.
Anyway, it is a fun little movie that may make you aware of RBG, if you didn't know her before this (which would be a shame, but one is never too old to learn). Not a great movie, but a ... fun sized one, with some jokes that work and others that don't.
