This dark thriller has a gritty start & also a volatile abusive relationship between the two leads. Nicole (Olivia Bonamy) is a protagonist & Steve (Ben Cura) is her abuser.
The film is very dark and I just do not like any of the characters in this. Nicole is a victim of abuse yet she has no will to want to change or escape this relationship. Her husband Steve is the scumbag & a sadist/sociopath that takes joy in exerting his dominance & will physically assault his partner without a second thought to get his way. He treats her as his property to do as he wishes and also to put into her place whenever she tried to disagree with him.
The policeman is the only half decent moralistic person in this yet he comes across as caricature/personified version of of an angel & devil character for Nicole. I do not like how passive Nicole is &, even though she knows that Steve is no good for her, is content to continue being in this circle of abuse. Even worse, she has a baby with him which should have prompted her to leave him but she is too selfish and weak to do the right thing.
Lastly the victim seems initially appreciative &, as predicted, turns into an anti hero characters. With so few characters it could have been a great film but it is just an unpleasant experience that I want to forget!

Loved this movie from start to finish
I saw the scores on here before I watched the movie and after I guess that some people just didn't get it.
I loved it. And yes, why not say how great the direction was, how beautifully shot it was and the acting was impeccable. Why not say that? It was!!
It felt a little Twin Peaks in a good way but it's clear that it was originally a play and has the pace of a play but it kept me hooked from beginning to end. It's clearly full of metaphors and allegory, so if you don't get it all then that's probably a good thing. I hate being spoon fed information and I'm more that happy to engage my brain and become immersed in the world the director wants me to go in.
More please :)
Most boring movie I seen in years
This movie is so boring, I had to try really hard making it past the first 10 minutes, even more past the second 10 minutes and didnt make it past the 30 minute mark. Only hipsters can rate this above 1 star, its a wast of time and utter bad
