"This is an ordinary love story, that took place one ordinary spring" Such a beautiful movie! Perfect sequel to Given: the series, focusing mainly on the storyline between Akihiko and Haruki.
Like the series, the movie doesn't disappoint either. Unlike the series which takes us through Mafuyu's story in a very slow-paced way, the movie is more fast paced and it suits the main pair.
We get better understanding of their feelings and most importantly what music means to one!!!!
For the cherry on top we get an insert track in the movie, Yoru Ga Akeru.
I think its so worth the watch! So go for it!

If you liked the series, no way you won't like the movie!
A different story
This love story was a lot more different and complicated than the couple we saw on the show. But it was just as good, I really enjoyed kaji's character arc. It's definitely worth a watch
Nonconsensual Sexual Acts and Poor Animation
Firstly, there are some serious incidents involving sex that happen in this film. Including a possible rape scene between two of the characters - it is left slightly ambiguous about the rape but there are definitely some nonconsensual sex acts performed.
The fact the film ends with the two parties involved in that scene in a relationship is terrible. A victim of abuse ends up apparently happy in a relationship with their abuser. That is a terrible message to send and just lazy from the writers. If they wanted to tackle serious issues like this it could have be done in a much better way. Rather than promoting to their audience that this is normal and ok. It isn't and there will be a number of people influenced by this.
Not suitable for the younger fans of the tv show either due to the above content.
Lastly, and less importantly, some of the animation is terrible - see the early scenes with the conductor and the orchestra.
