They did a good job to create the mystery. I was mixed feeling at first how they revealed the tie between Max and the couple so early on, but it worked out for them and actually add to the mystery.
However, the ending was so weak that it leaves you just feeling robbed of investing an hour and half. It's like all that build up for a weak ending that doesn't justify the time spent.
Anyways, I read a lot of people needed the ending explained. It's actually quite easy. Remember when she first came to visit? She said it to the guy, "I would kill to have a cabin like this."
And.. well... she did.

Could've been better
A Shame Ryder has to make such rubbish....bad as even a B movie
It begins with a decent build up, buy slowly decends into absurdity. At the end, there is no end...no real dramatic resolution...it just ends and you wonder why you watched this. Just plain bad.
Over complicated
Too much going on. Too many flashbacks and multiple timelines.
If you look away for 10 seconds and the timeline switches, you're left confused.
Could of been much better, with a few tweaks.
