This is a fantasy set on a world of Eos. There was once a king who united the whole world and people but then it turned dark, and divided into North and South. I haven't read the novels its based on, but was impressed by the scenery, costumes, storyline and much else. It wasn't a run of the mill fantasy, and it does make you think, and you have to rewatch it to grasp things. The only downside was that this movie didn't really explain what was going on half of the time, or what happened to the demons and the evil king.

A fantasy film and not a Biblical film
This Review is r/t is this close to Bunyan's book "Pilgrims Progress"
If you watched this movie as a "Fiction / Fantasy" then my review is NOT for you. I am writing a review for those who see the "Title" and have heard somewhere in the grapevine this is a more modern "Pilgrims Progress" perspective. This review is to show people it is NOT and is only a "Fiction / Fantasy" movie with a Similar Title.
Movie starts with a statement of a King coming to bring the North/South states of the Kingdom. In the Bible the Nation of Yisrael becomes a North/South states after the Death of Solomon. Character at start is supposedly a Judge of a Town in the South, the Bible has Judges. These two are as close to Scripture I can see. The Longer I watched the movie, the more I felt How Carmen's Character originally felt in his Song "Invitation from a Witch" VERY DARK Movie. I had to stop watching the movie, for it just never even compared to Pilgrims Progress. Those of you think this is a part 2 of Pilgrims Progress ... should watch "Christiana". This was too Dark and i am not talking about the Photography or lighting. I watched almost 1/3 of it; I could not see any connection to Pilgrims Progress. In Pilgrims Progress the Main Character is focused on Scripture warnings, I Never saw anything like this. Also it appears both sides (Evil/Good) use forms of Witchcraft / Sorcery. Now CS Lewis Narnia does cover Witchcraft/Sorcery but only on the Evil Side. This is NOT related to Bunyan's Book or the Bible; but if looking for a "Fiction / Fantasy" not r/t the Bible then this is for you.
I loved it
Big budget film makers forget that it should be about the story not the actors or effects. This is a highly enjoyable film
