This Hong Kong comedy features an all-star comedy cast where treasury employee Fatty (Eric Tsang) discovered that bags of used 30 million in Hong Kong Dollars have not been incinerated due to a system error; therefore, he hatches up a plot to grab the doe before they are burned. He joins forces with friends Mark (Mark Cheng) and Tomboy (Anglie Leung) to help him with the plan but also enlist the help of thief Baldy (Karl Maka) to assist. But, Baldy wants the money for his own and to share it with love interest Siu-Fung (Paula Tsui) and on their trail is hothead inspector (Ching Wong) and a nun, Sister Maria (Brigitte Lin).
This film is full of classic Hong Kong comedy from start to finish, from Karl Maka getting himself stuck in a moving washing machine to Eric Tsang driving in a van full of venomous snakes. All the misadventures the characters go through to get their hands on the big dough created pure funny entertainment and laugh-out-loud moments. The acting was great; I especially liked the performance of Paula Tsui - cynical, sarcastic and deadpan delivered. She had an entertaining love-hate relationship with Karl Maka.
From the start of the film with all the mad misadventures to the thrilling climax, it's a movie that make you witness the immoral and crazy stuff people would do to get easy money. There's really no award-winning material or crowning achievements here - just pure, mad, crazy comedy!
Grade B+
