The movie is not for the general audience, nor is it a difficult movie. I loved Billy Crystal's idea of using New York as a theater stage. Because New York itself is in the lead role of the movie. I would buy the blu-ray edition of the movie for myself.
I hope Billy Crystal directs more. We are in an age where we miss cinema (real motion pictures made for cinema).

good one from billy C.
Billy crystal is comedy writer charlie burns. He lost his wife years back. Today, he's having lunch with emma (tiffany haddish). She won a lunch with him, not even knowing who he was. Charlie is having issues of his own... remembering things. Where his locker is. How to get to work. His co-workers still like him, and want to keep him on, but his memory problems are starting to be a big issue. Flaring up more and more frequently. He's starting to lose track of what's real and what's in the past. Some fun co-stars... kevin kline, bob costas, barry levinson, sharon stone. Even Itzhak perlman. Quirky but good stuff. Directed by veteran standup billy crystal. Based on a story by Alan Zweibel. The ending is a little over-complicated, but it's mostly good.
Here Today
7/10 - Billy Crystal and Tiffany Haddish make a convincing if not unexpected comedy duo even though this movie leans more towards being a drama than a comedy.
