I had the opportunity to sit down in 2021 and watch the 2016 Thai comedy "I Love You Two". And without ever having heard about this movie from director Rergchai Poungpetch, all that mattered was that it was a Thai movie that I hadn't already seen. So needless to say that I ended up sitting down to watch it.
While "I Love You Two" is a watchable movie, it just was lacking in the comedy department. The laughs in the movie were few and far between. So on that account, then director Rergchai Poungpetch just didn't manage to deliver an overly entertaining movie.
The comedy aspects of "I Love You Two" were fairly weak, especially since there wasn't all that much to laugh at in the movie. And whatever funny scenes and moments that were on the screen weren't simply utilized to their full potential. So if you are sitting down to watch "I Love You Two" with hopes of being brought to tears from laughter, then you are in for a disappointment.
It should be said that they had managed to put together a very good ensemble of actors and actresses for this movie, with some familiar faces thrown into the group as well - provided you are familiar with Thai cinema.
It was a shame that "I Love You Two" didn't turn out to be a more funny and enjoyable movie that it was, because there definitely was a lot of potential for a far greater funny movie here.
My rating of "I Love You Two" lands on a mediocre five out of ten stars.
