I saw this movie on Amazon Prime just the other night and it surprised me very positively, I think Julia Hart directed a very different 70's noir than usual, it starts as a family drama and then becomes a full-fledged thriller, with some even very intense and raw moments. The film takes its time, Hart expands the times, but despite this, the film is never boring and keeps interest alive. Special mention for the talented Rachel Brosnahan who offers a truly remarkable performance.

An atypical and interesting noir
Slow and forgettable
2.5 out of 5 stars.
Great cast ensemble. But the plot. Script. And direction is slow and dull. Makes it difficult trying to sit through.
Your/his/our Woman
What do I even mean by that? And also why did my internet freak out on me and I have write this again? We get Rachel Brosnahan and depending on if you're a fan or even what kind of a fan you are, you will get something out of it. This does play with expectations as I ... well you'd know if I could've kept the other thing I already wrote.
So this plays with what society tells us - like gender roles. Men are supposed to be good in fixing stuff and women are supposed to be able to cook. Now before you get upset (if you haven't already) and cry sexism, I'm just saying what is - at least at the moment. Who knows where we're heading and what "normal" will be in the future. Again, you can hate me for saying what is, I can't change that. But the movie does twist it at times or rather the characters in it. Like when Rachels character fails to make eggs and even toast bread ... how you perceive that will be up to you.
The movie is tension filled, but slow paced. It has some cliches and is a bit predictable. It could also have done with a shorter running time .. but it's still more than well made to say the least. If you like thrillers and don't mind a couple of its flaws ... go right ahead and watch it
