A typical waste of time Hollywood sci-fi action movie and utterly generic in every respect. A tired-looking Mark Wahlberg plays a guy plagued by bad dreams who turns out to have had various past lives. Chiwetel Ejiofor is once again wasted in a stock bad guy role and no other cast member makes any impression. The story feels cobbled together from other source and the action is by rote. No thanks!

Infinite
Infinite is a brash breezy action movie directed by Antoine Fuqua who tries to hide its serious shortcomings.
There are a breed of people who are constantly reincarnated who can access memories and skills of their past lives.
On one side are the Infinites who believe that they work for the good of humanity in general. Then there are the Nihilists who want to destroy it.
Bathurst (Ejiofor) is bored with constantly coming back to live and has created a special silver egg that will end all life.
Evan McCauley (Mark Wahlberg) knows where that egg is hidden. He has suffered from mental health issues but he did not know that he has been reincarnated until he meets other of his kind.
The story suffers from serious lack of logic. If Bathurst is bored, he could just shoot himself with a special bullet and avoid being reincarnated. There is no need to destroy all life.
There can only be one said Connor McLeod. If you want to see this type of movie, just watch Highlander. It has a kind of magic.
Brainless and Senseless
"Infinite" is a brainless and senseless action-sci-fi film. The flawed plot is a complete mess, without character development, but based on an interesting premise: an original view of reincarnation. Unfortunately, the reason why the villain Bathurst, performed by Chiwetel Ejiofor, does exist is amazingly stupid. Bathurst wants to destroy the mankind and all the living things on Earth since he has been bored of reincarnating for three hundred years. However, he has a bullet that holds the souls of who is shot in a chip, avoiding the soul to reborn and reincarnate again. So why doesn't he commit suicide with this bullet and avoid all the troubles. What is the purpose of existing The Believers other than seek out for the egg to avoid the destruction of life on Earth? Therefore, to like the story, the viewer needs to turn off the brain and watch the good CGI only. My vote is four.
