Ten years ago, schoolgirl Millie Brady disappeared, never to be found again. Her father was found guilty of her murder, but her body was never found. Now, Phoebe Fox, who had been her classmate, is making a film abut the girl. She goes to their teacher, Andrew Buchan, who is now a copywriter, to ask for his participation.
The third of three movies based on Håkan Nesser's collection of short stories, is not as compelling as the other two. Perhaps it is the nature of the crime that underlies this story, or the performers, or perhaps, looking at three of them in short order, or the slow, plodding way in which it uncovers and reveals the sordid situation. Perhaps I am mildly bored by similarity of technique in all three: the gorgeous camerawork, the way the silences fill in the characters and situations. In any case, it is still a well-told tale.

Plot summary
While in Maardam to meet with clients, Antwerp-based ad copywriter Henry Martens runs into Paula Polanski, a former student of his when he taught English Literature as a substitute professor at City College in Kaalbringen for a term ten years ago. Perhaps spurred by recently having had their class reunion, Paula, now a documentary filmmaker with some renown, has decided to make a film about Vera Kall, someone else in her class at that time who went missing the night of their graduation party. Although Vera was never found, Vera's father, Jacob Kall, was charged with her murder three weeks later, some of the evidence that led to his conviction being systemic physical abuse that he inflicted on her over the course of her life. Serving a life sentence, Jacob still professes his innocence. Wanting the film to be homage to Vera, who was a mystery to all of her classmates beyond most of the males wanting to have dated her, Paula wants to interview as many people in Vera's life especially at that time, including Henry. Initially resisting in not wanting to dredge up old arguably painful memories, Henry eventually agrees to the interview in having some unexpected free time when some plans he and his common law wife Clara fall through at the last minute. In staying with Paula at her parents' summer house while in Kaalbringen for those few days, Henry gets pulled into many other aspects of the documentary that he wasn't expecting. As such, he begins to feel that Paula may have some ulterior motives in her actions around the film.

I Did Not Care For This One
A Young Teacher and Student
The age old story, Henry the Literature teacher has moved on from the events on Grad Night 2008 but is brought back in by another student, now a documentary videographer, will he help or cover up? A little slow but an agreeable reveal.
The Best in The Intrigo Trilogy
I would say this is the best one out of the three as far as storylines go.
A school girl disappears. Years later a former classmate starts interviewing people that the gir knew at that time. Her father was convicted, but was he the real killer and if so where's her body?
Kinda got a feeling on which way the story was gonna go, continued watching just in case it went a different direction.
