I agree with most reviewers. Jacob's Ladder was one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time, well it still is, except this version. What in the world!?!?!? Bad production, bad acting, horrible retake on the story, just not the same element at all. The first movie was so suspenseful and full of mystery. This remake labors you into wanting to keep watching, but knowing it is hard to do so. Leave perfection alone!

Another worst horror film! Focus too much on boring hallucination scene! Avoid at all cost!
This film start with a man hallucinate himself strangle by an unknown people on a stair! As turnout, this film is about solving the mystery of the death of Jacob's brother "Isaac"! Entire film full of boring and confusing hallucination scene of Jacob! Quite bored to be honest! First action scene, when two guys break in Jacob house, he take down one guy and another run away! Later he drive the body away but found out his trunk is empty! Second action scene, a bunch of random person shooting at the two brothers car and they runaway with the car! The most intense scene is the flashback war scene of Jacob at the end of the film! Quite bloody! Big spoiler ahead! The title name "Ladder" actually is the drug Jacob and his friend "Hoffman" invented to test on army veteran! Isaac actually still alive, Jacob just hallucinate himself as Isaac! At the end, Jacob found out the truth of the drug and confront with Hoffman at the lab! Jacob and Hoffman broke a window and fell down on the road! The falling kill Hoffman and Jacob sent to hospital! That's it! Another disappointed film! Not recommended!

Jacob Singer (Michael Ealy) is a trauma doctor who suffers from PTSD. During the war, he operated on his brother, who eventually died. He is back in New York, working at the VA hospital when a person informs him that his brother Isaac (Jesse Williams) is still alive and living in the underground. Jacob finds him as both suffer from PTSD a situation made worse by the drug used to treat it. It causes hallucinations and reality distortions.
Then we have the Twilight Zone ending which only made the film worse.
