Movie-breaking plot hole

This is a competently-made movie with a semi-interesting story and another captivating performance by Zoe Kravitz. I enjoyed the OCD/agoraphobia aspects as I can relate.

Unfortunately there are a bunch of dumb parts as well as open threads that lead to nowhere. Social commentary and deeper meanings aren't explored, they're just mentioned and forgotten. But the most unforgivable aspect is a gaping plot hole that would have ended the conflict as soon as it began. Call the cops. Movie over.

I tried ignoring it for a while. I figured they would make up an excuse like the cops being involved. It would be lazy, but at least it would be addressed. But there is not an inkling of a reason for why she doesn't call the cops at any point during the danger. Writers/directors, please do better. (1 viewing, 3/12/2022)

Nothing redeeming about this

Another "don't waste your time watching" movie. Spoilers included.

This movie is a hodgepodge of nonsense. Did Soderbergh run out of ideas and just decide to sample subjects from other films. There's a subtle hint to The Net with the name Angela and her working from home in the IT field, and that she'd stumbled onto a crime and someone goes after her. There was some intermittent Rear Window hints, but that didn't go anywhere. It's just one puzzle with pieces from several others all jammed in together.

Zoë Kravitz is a very pretty young woman, but that's it as far as this movie is concerned. She was really awkward and looked stoned or just fu^#ing bored out of her mind, pretty much throughout the whole movie. Her character was an awful human being so I'm surprised she thought enough to investigate and report the crime. She treated her booty call like a dog, and her disability is no excuse to be that shi&&y to anyone. I almost thought that he would be in on the craziness because what other purpose would he had served? He was a character that could have been erased. Kevin was a character that could have been erased. He was only there to acknowledge that because of her agoraphobia, her being outside raised alarms. That's it. Instead he was made to look like a stalker with no acceptable excuse for knowing her name, sitting there bleeding out on her couch. I thought he was in on it as well since that was such a lame excuse, but here we are with another bad plot with bad dialogue.

Acting was obviously not a prerequisite to gain a role in the film, as was proven when Robin Givens' smugly mug showed up on the screen. The rest of the cast was lame, even Rita Wilson.

During the action scenes, everything seemed so amateurish. The tour of the city that she took to get to the FBI office was idiotic. If this character existed, how in the world would she have figured out where their offices were in the first place? Why did she even leave her house in the first place to report the crime and not call the FBI herself? And what bugged me the entire time even though it was a small thing: Why was her living room window open all the time?

Terrible movie, great apartment

This movie is slow, boring, and cliché. The story is ridiculous, and the casting was poor. The only great thing about this movie is the loft apartment.
