This is another of these really average "disgraced cop rides to the rescue" stories: this time a really wooden Aaron Eckhart is "Penny" who, unknowingly at the time, shot a man who had abducted - and hid - the daughter of the police chief. In tandem with a truly irksome social-media "journalist" Courtney Eaton "Ava", he embarks on the hunt for the girl, only to become the target of the heavily armed brother of the deceased. This is badly written, sloppily edited, and the direction took a poor story and made it even more unmemorable. That said, it does move along OK and there are plenty of car crashes and shoot 'em ups; but sadly the people getting shot are the wrong ones!!

Just shoot me, now - please!
What part of stand down don't you understand?
Frank Penny (Aaron Eckhart) is "old and white." He finds himself in the middle of a kidnapping/ransom gone bad, mostly gone bad because of him. Ava Brooks (Courtney Eaton ) a video vlogger follows him around, filming him live as he attempts to save the kidnapped victim who is buried in a box that is filling up with water.
This is a watered-down Dirty Harry film. The characters were likable enough to make an overly predictable plot palatable. We know the results and even when Frank Penny will lunge out and save the day.
Guide: No sex or nudity. Don't recall any profanity.
Just an hour
The German title is actually even called 64 minutes, for everyone to know. The movie runs longer of course, but once the countdown starts this is almost in real time. Now having said all that, you have to suspend your disbelief! Quite a bit, because it's one thing that our main character is trying to "help out", it is another that he seems to care more than everyone else (including the father) ... but even that would not be as bad as the fact that everything is being streamed online so ... the inner logic is not working when it comes to how the police responds to that or other character do either.
If you suspend your disbelief enough and just accept the flawed ride though, the movie can be quite entertaining. That is a testament to Aaron Eckhart mostly. There are some nice story points too, if you care ...
