Follow the story of a pride of lions in the Luangwa Valley in Zambia. The pride was always protected by two huge lions, but in the wet season of 2000, they both died, leaving a younger male lion to take charge. Every year since, the adult females have given birth to cubs, but have been unable to raise them to adulthood as threats from predators have proved too much for the young male lion to protect them. Can he hold off the rival male from across the river who has been eyeing his territory? Can our female lioness overcome her fear of the crocodiles that have constantly plagued her litters and on more than one occasion nearly taken her life?
