This is really not very happy

This is really not very happy. I realise that this is titled as Lowlife Love but this is not at all as I imagined. What we soon have are a low level filmmaking people either porno or very small budget films which we in UK do not really have. The thing in Japan there is clearly a very good chance to make a film but at the same time some of the actors, especially young girls. So, not only 'lowlife' but people who take maybe as might be detestable characters and this simply may be exploitation and degradation, which it looks like here.

Too depressing

An unpleasant film from the director of LOVE AND OTHER CULTS, this shines a light on the murky world of indie and low-budget filmmaking in Japan and concentrates throughout on the exploitation and degradation of women in the industry. It's sleazy and depressing, featuring one scene after another of humiliation, violence or pornography, and it's a world in which actresses are treated as little more than pieces of meat. Realistic, yes, and well made with it, especially for a low budget movie, but hardly fun to watch. The problem I have with films like this is that when the central character is invariably rehabilitated come the climax, you're supposed to appreciate their transformation, but they're such detestable characters that I never do.

Rather Slow

I liked the scenes of Japan but the film itself is rather slow and boring. Some hot chicks -- especailly the one right at the beginning who's naked. Japanese girls shoudl do more porn in my book.
