Looking at the IMDB rating of around 5, I thought this would be a waste of time to watch, however I was proved wrong! This film deserves atleast 7 stars out of 10. The story is very engaging along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty's brilliant and charming act which livens up the viewer's mood. The majority of the film shooting has been done in a housing colony somewhere in MP. With a simple story and a low budget the director has crafted a good and entertaining family movie. The movie is worth the time spent!

An underrated comedy drama!
Molecule Review: Motichoor Chaknachoor / Well-Produced Mediocrity / 5 Stars
Motichoor Chaknachoor (Dismantled Sweetmeat) has been produced well with a very lively set and supportive soundtrack but is stuck in the 1990s. The stand that it takes in the arranged marriage setup reeks of backwardness, further aggravated by the silly turn the plot takes towards the second half. Although I am aware that such practices are still followed in the interiors of certain central states in India, the attempt at garnishing them with modest and forward-thinking attitude does not really work. Then it is only the mild humour and some cool performances by the supporting cast that makes Motichoor Chaknachoor a bearable romance drama. TN.
TASTY ENOUGH BUT NOT YUMMY !
MOTICHOOR CHAKNACHOOR REVIEW :-
Nawazuddin Siddiqui finally coming out of his intense zone and that thing was enough to create excitement about Motichoor Chaknachoor. The trailer was decent hence expectations were on medium level and thankfully Motichoor Chaknachoor surpasses those expectations. Even though film basically revolves around a wife and husband search, it ends up finding much more than that and gives us a lot of sensible things to take home. As it's name refers Motichoor Chaknachoor is sweet Motichoor which gets bitter (as in Chaknachoor) for sometime and then again turns Sweet at the end.
The story revolves around 36 year old man Pushpinder Tyagi (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who is trying to find a wife. His entire family is fed up with continuous rejections and Pushpinder himself now feels that he won't get the perfect wife so he has to compromise. Thier neighbour family is also in search of a man for Annie aka Anita (Athiya Shetty) who wants to marry a man who can take her out of India, foreign. When both Pushpinder and Annie doesn't find their perfect partners they realise that they can be perfect partners for each other as they both fulfills the needed criteria. Finally Pushpinder gets to taste a Motichoor but how its turns out to be Chaknachoor, find out all stuff in the film.
Nawazuddin as Pushpinder is hilarious, he finally gets that funny character as a lead actor of the film and gives a full justice to it. Athiya Shetty as Annnie is sober, she looks beautiful but the writing of her character is not that great. The supporting cast includes some good performances from Vibha Chibber, Navni Parihar, Sanjeev Vats, Karuna Pandey, Abhishek Rawat, Vivek Mishra, Sapna Sand and Usha Nagar. Music of the film does not include any hit numbers but all the songs are situational and that's why none of them make you feel bored. Dialogues have local Humour and the Bhopal accent is well written and well mouthed.
The story of the film is simple but the way it has been presented on screen is praiseworthy. You laugh with the characters, you enjoy their journey and you feel their pain too. The first half of the film is a total fun ride while the second half starts on a slow note and goes bit emotional towards the end. Screenplay has some high moments when you literally say Wow, but it also includes some dull moments which can be forgiven. Debamitra Biswal as director succeeds in making a good film on an ordinary story. He misses a chance of making quite strong film but it is okay to have a good watchable film some times.
As a whole, Motichoor Chaknachoor is a decent watchable family entertainer which will surely entertain you for 130 minutes. It will also teach you something about family values and relationship. Although the climax is predictable and quite simple, it is bounded in a situational comedy way which is really awesome. With better climax it would have been a much better film, but being not so harsh this one can be enjoyed once by family audience.
