When watching a movie, I look for a couple of things that make the movie worth watching: Is it keeping my attention or boring me, Would I be willing to watch it again, just to name a few. Well, although the beginning didn't look promising, the movie actually turned out to be good. The actors were correctly picked for their parts and were very convincing. The brothers interacted well, and I eventually got that good feeling I was looking for. I felt very satisfied that the movie left no questions unanswered. I would watch it again as I feel their were some things that might have been missed first time around. I give it a solid 7 out of 10. Enjoy!

On Toph and their mother Marion having legally declared Toph and Coop's missing survivalist father dead, Coop, in the middle of winter, returns to Revelstoke for the first time in years for Marion's wedding. Coop plans on making this trip an in and out affair, he having no desire to spend any time in Revelstoke or with his family, especially as he has unmentioned plans immediately following the weekend. About the Pollard men in general, Coop believes they are all screwed-up. To get out of doing something else, Coop agrees to accompany Toph to the family's isolated mountain cabin - where their father spent most of his time - as Toph has heard reports of a squatter living there. Out of circumstance, by the time they are ready to head back to town the next morning, they have no vehicle or shelter, and with no one looking for them, they have to hike down the mountain, which neither of them has any experience doing in the middle of winter. They decide instead of the longer route along the logging road to the main road, they will take what they believe is the shortcut through the woods. In their extended time together, Toph and Coop will have time to get into the open some of the familial issues that are bubbling just below the surface. That, in addition to whether they are able to make it back to civilization alive, they may also be able to test Coop's assertion about the screwed-up Pollard men.

Nice Canadian film
Watched this on a plane back from Winnipeg. The great Canadian experience, visit Winnipeg, then watch a movie about 2 guys stuck in the Rockies.
Although some parts of it is very typical Canadian, they do try to make it relatable to non-Canadians by adding a couple of interesting characteristics to each of the main characters in the movie. And I think they were on the right path but could have done more with it...become even more adventurous with the plot and explore the themes of fatherhood, wilderness, success (and failure),and in general the human condition.
But that might have compromised the realism and the message of real danger in situations such as this (which is very real). Canadian wilderness is very beautiful but can be dangerous as well if you're not properly prepared.
