Okay...

The Anees Bazmee brand of comedies held an appeal for more than a decade with numerous box-office hits entertaining the audiences all through the mid 2000's. But in 2017, where a Dangal breaks all box-office records & emerges as the highest-grossing Hindi film of all-time & most recently, a Jagga Jasoos, which is India's first Musical trail-blazing Masterpiece, Bazmee's latest family-comedy 'Mubarakan' appears dated & frankly, tired.

'Mubarakan' Synopsis: When identical twin brothers Karan and Charan (Arjun Kapoor) find themselves pressured by their respective adoptive parents to marry against their will, they seek the help of the uncle Kartar (Anil Kapoor). But things only get more & more complicated.

'Mubarakan' is a tale of complications & confusion. And sadly, not much of it is funny. If there are some genuine laughs in here, its because of Anil Kapoor. As the Uncle who makes things worse his boys, The Bollywood Icon is energetic, who keeps the goings-on watchable. He is the sole saving grace.

Bazmee's Writing lacks the bite. The jokes aren't funny enough. Bazmee's Direction, too, is average. And the rest of the actors also have been better, particularly Arjun Kapoor, who struggles in dual-roles. Even the underrated Pawan Raj Malhotra & the always superb Ratna Pathak Shah are reduced to screaming all through.

On the whole, 'Mubarakan' is disappointing.

Avoid like plague.

Same old repeated stuff. Avoid this trash like plague. Bad plot, awful editing, awful direction, awful acting. I cant seem to understand how the lead actor became an actor. The guy cannot act. The leading ladies were a wastage.

Arjun Kapoor appears in a double-role as Karan and Charan. Karan is born and brought up in London, and Charan is born and brought up in Punjab. Karan is in love with Sweety (Illena Decruz),but his marriage gets fixed with Binkle (Athiya Shetty). Charan is in love with Binkle, but his marriage gets fixed with Sweety. All of this confusion happens because of Karan's maternal uncle and Charan's paternal uncle Kartar (Anil Kapoor),and now it is up to him to solve this issue.

complicated n silly situations

#Mubarakan is another big-budget hindi movie, meant to appease the Punjabi-speaking audience. This film could have been made in Punjabi itself. There is a lot of confusion n madness throughout the film, leading to many complicated n silly situations. Pavan n Ratna, as brother n sister, r excellent. Anil n Arjun Kapoor (in a double role) r good. The heroines don't have much to do n they do that well. The second half needs to get trimmed by 20 minutes at least. The music is forgettable. Rating 1.5/5.
