Incomprehensible blabbering of one of the characters, erratic narrative, 3 hours runtime and pretty static picture most of the time. I could be not sophisticated enough to appreciate the possible beauty of this beast, but I'll better stay this way.

Plot summary
Summertime. In the midst of undulating cornfields next to a country petrol station, 20ish Robert is helping his twin sister Elena prepare for her final school philosophy exam. They live in a world of their own. Sometimes they are tender to each other, other times quite violent. He likes to drink beer and talk about Brentano and Heidegger: 'The sense of being is time.' Certain rituals, games, and a love of betting connect them. She is jealous of her best friend, Cecilia and wants to know if he has slept with her but he's not telling. She challenges him to a bet: 'I'll sleep with someone - anyone - before I graduate.' If she loses, he will pick up the keys to the Volkswagen, the first car that the missing parents gave the children. If she wins, he has to ask her for something. It doesn't matter what, but it can't be an object. And so they have 48 hours left in order to get their heads around philosophy and win a bet. While she is trying on strangers, Robert hesitates between the roles of observer and accomplice. Their game grows more serious as the end of their childhood draws nearer and nearer.

Don't watch it unless you're being paid for it
Pretentious - The Movie (spoilers: but nothing specific/only broad description)
Beginning: two siblings in their late teens are learning for a philosophy exam. It is strongly hinted at that they have feelings for each other but don't know what they should do or feel about that. Even though it's a film the relationship between them is (for the most part) believeable and you really think that they are siblings. The pseudo intellectual/philosophical rambling of the brother about time, being and consciousness make (mostly) no sense.
Middle: the actions of the siblings become more and more erratic without any indication to why. The brothers ramblings make less sense by the minute.
End: the actions become nonsensical and downright illegal. Some examples: rape (both m to f and vice versa),capturing a human/hoding him hostage, torture and murder. All without motive or reason. Brother rambles on.
TLDR: pseudo intellectual film that tries to distract the viewer from the lack of story/good characters with shock value and incomprehensible, philosophical babbling.
Absolutely stunning philosophical adventure
This is the type of film that enables its viewers to completely immerse oneself in it. The great length of the film, nearly 3 hours, is essential because of its trancendental properties. If you want to watch it, you have to be open-minded. The beautiful cinematography, the very talented actors and the discussed philosophical issus ("What is time?") create an unforgetful enhancing experience.
