Watched this movie because the description seemed nice. It sounded like a fluff comedy with some romance in it. The first scenes about the hair took me off guard, but then they started presenting the message of finding oneself and loving who you are for real, and so I thought that this might be a really good movie after all. But Violet was just an irrational character. And the story was messed up and didn't make any sense. So, 2 out of 10, only for the message that they wanted to present, even though it didn't get through.

Plot summary
Violet Jones (Lathan) doesn't realize it at first but she's dismayed by her superficial, "perfect" life. She has everything she thought she'd need - a successful career, friends and a boyfriend who is a handsome doctor (Whittle). When her fairy tale begins to unravel, so does she. This movie shows what a beautiful, smart, successful woman can do when she starts to look inward instead of outward!

Not Good Enough
Just be yourself ... it's all about you .
It's really hard these days to find a movie that is fun and purposeful in the same time ,, even though the idea is not that genuine ,, but still it stayed refreshing and the plot kept on that small bit of mystery just to keep us more intrigued ..
The screenplay in general looked tight, connected and well structured , some slow moments here and there but did not in anyway detained the overall nice and fun environment the characters created.
As for the cast, Sanaa Lathan did amazing and all the other ,, Ernie Hudson and that little kid Daria Johns .. it all felt right.
Final thought,, so apart from all of the technical stuff ,, the movie had a really thoughtful idea of just be yourself because at the end of the day it is all about you ... for that alone the movie is so Recommended.
Good, But Not Great
NAPPILY EVER AFTER is a new romantic comedy, now available on Netflix. The title of course is a play on "happily" ever after and refers to the hair of the African-American lead actress, who does a great job in this film. I'm not familiar with her other work, but I loved her in this.
That being said, this IS a romantic comedy, so be warned. It has all the clichés and trappings of the genre, so you can expect that. It doesn't feel particularly fresh, but it feels familiar in a good, comfortable way. There are no real surprises and it follows a plot we've seen a hundred times before, but of course it's still fun to watch if you like these kinds of films. Recommend to fans of the genre.
