I was debating if I wanted to watch this based off the mixed reviews and I highly enjoyed it. It's nowhere near a perfect film, but my rating is based off the amount of fun I had watching it. I have always enjoyed over the top violent B-Grade sci-fi monster movies that make me laugh. This filled all of the criteria for those things, it wasn't overly long, and it didn't take itself seriously. So I would recommend giving this a chance if you're on the fence about it especially based on all the negativity around it like I was.

This was phenomenal...
Initially I didn't know what I was getting into here when I sat down to watch the 2018 movie "Nekrotronic" by director Kiah Roache-Turner. But I was enticed by the title, and of course I found the time to sit down and watch it.
Now, if you haven't already seen "Nekrotronic" and if you get the chance to do so. DO SO! This movie was very much akin to "Shaun of the Dead" in terms of enjoyment, goofs and I will say that if you replace the zombies in "Shaun of the Dead" with demons instead, then you have "Nekrotronic".
This movie was a blast! And I was more than genuinely entertained by the storyline, the plot, the characters and the events that unfurled as the movie progressed. You quickly get washed away and carried up by the storyline, because it is quite original and also very entertaining.
They had some pretty nicely talented people performing the various roles and characters in the movie, most memorable and outstanding were Ben O'Toole (playing Howard North) and Caroline Ford (playing Molly). Lots of nice support performers as well.
Aside from a blast of a storyline, then "Nekrotronic" is full of wonderful special effects. And the CGI team really made the movie work so nicely, because of the level of details and the realism to the special effects. A movie such as "Nekrotronic" needed to have convincing CGI effects, and let me just tell you that the team here delivered and then some.
I hadn't even heard about "Nekrotronic" before stumbling upon it here late in 2019 and picking it up. I am glad that I did, because "Nekrotronic" is a movie quite well worth watching and taking the time to do so. I am rating "Nekrotronic" a well-deserving eight out of ten stars. This is, without a doubt, a hidden gem that totally came out of nowhere and went under the radar.
If you enjoyed "Shaun of the Dead", then you must do yourself a favor and get your hands on a copy of "Nekrotronic" and watch it.
Not for me
I expected a lot from this low budget slice of supernatural comedy horror, in which a team of spook busters must join forces to tackle a woman busy transforming innocent humans into demons. It's an energetic mix of the likes of HELLRAISER and GHOSTBUSTERS, made with a snarky tone and one or two familiar actors, such as the alluring Monica Bellucci and David Wenham. It's also Aussie, so there's a lot of naturalism here. However, what lets it down from me is the moronic script, which treats the whole enterprise as a lame comedy with one crude one-liner after another. This becomes tiresome after about five minutes, and the rest is just a blokish bore.
