Is it a comedy? A road movie? A drama? The film shifts between these (sub)genres. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it feels odd. The main reason is that the two storylines are so different. The scenes with the soccer team are pure comedy. The scenes with our protagonist are pure drama. They intertwine but it would have been stronger if both storylines were a mix of comedy and drama.
6.6Plot summary
Now in his fifties, Vagn leads a solitary life and plays football with a group of similarly aged men, some even older. After being left behind at a petrol station by his teammates on their way to a match in Sweden, he encounters a young habitual offender and together they set off in hot pursuit of Vagn's buddies. A Nordic road movie taking in a whole series of comic, serious and, above all, well-written scenarios.

Quintessential Indy road-movie with a very Nordic touch. 58 year old lonely janitor, who is so shy that he barely registers get accidentally left behind on a gas-station, when his old-boys soccer team is on its way to a match in Sweden. To catch up, he gets a lift with a sweet natured delinquent and the adventure begins... The movie has a nice flow and is filled with quirky characters and wry observations about people and differences. Most of the actors are well-known danish character actors, who seems to have a lot of fun. Some of the humor do require a little knowledge of Denmark and Sweden, but it shouldn't be too difficult for anyone to relate to most of the situations. Danish superstar Tina Dico supplies the soundtrack and some really catchy songs.
