He's trying to save his informant sister...but he's not much of a believable frontman for this action flick. It's an inexpensive action flick that has trouble knowing what kind of film it is.

Dumb movie. Wooden acting from all but a few. Good fights. But if you view it as the comedy I think they intended - Stroker Ace on a shoestring budget - it can be more entertaining than many apparently thought. And let's not overlook the performance by the suitcase, which proved to be an ideal Macguffin. Too bad there are no awards for that category. As to the rest of the cast not named Dern or Turturro, don't bother learning a lot of names. You won't be seeing most of them speaking in other films very often.

Ray Barren (Robert Miano) runs a casino and is a crime boss. Yuri, the son of the Russian mafia boss Arkadi Dubkova (Bruce Dern) owes Ray money. After being roughed up, Yuri tells Ray where "the case" is located. Ray calls upon former military extraction expert Marcus (Omid Zader) to obtain the case under the watchful eye of the Russians. Things become complicated as Marcus gets frame, his sister is taken, there is a bounty on Marcus, and a lot of crooked cops.

The story has many light moments. The bounty hunters were interesting, But not as zany as "Smokin' Aces." Entertaining film.
