Who's this girl?

Sara Meyers (Brooklyn Haley ) is hired to clean up a nice suburban abandoned house with a heated pool. The previous owners have vanished. We know from the opening scene there was a murder in this house. Sara is helped by her ditzy friend Kelly (Eden Shea Beck) and Kelly's boyfriend Nick (Hunter Johnson). Officer Evelyn Bennett (Nicole Cinaglia ) stops by for increased eye candy.

Typical house possession film. Go to library and find out what happened which is about an hour into the film, jamming any paranormal thrills into the last half hour. Characters were not bad, they just didn't do anything with them.

Guide: F-word. sex. brief butt nudity (Brooklyn Haley)

Rather enjoyable and creepy indie effort

Following the current tenants' death, a woman moves into the house to prepare it for the next owner by the real estate company, but when she comes to believe the house may be haunted by a malicious spirit that's feeding off her troubled past she gathers her friends to get the spirit to leave them alone.

For the most part, this was a pretty solid indie effort. Among its more enjoyable aspects is the strong setup that starts the film off as the concept employed here is really creative. Bringing in the cleaner with an abusive boyfriend in the past to fix up a house for a resale opportunity and leaving her alone to deal with the belongings inside causes this to be unique in that the setup brings about the backstory of the house's history with intruders she needs to watch out for. That causes a wholly impressive easy dismissal about all the strange happenings that occur here since the idea of the house being targeted by others for harmless get-togethers before the official business she's involved with to be the rational explanation for all the strange happenings she's a part of alone in the house. That build-up turns out to be quite enjoyable as the series of incidents in the house becomes quite chilling over time. With the focus being on finding rooms are strewn about in disarray in a time-frame that was impossible to be done in the period she was out to hear whispers and voices outside, the slow-build from these incidents to the more overt and prominent ones involving her dreams about what's going on that start to bring up some intriguing scenarios. The gradual reveal of the real history here and it's subsequent attacks on them at the party then turns into the rather big final confrontation at the end with them performing the occult ritual and getting some enjoyable action in here that plays off rather nicely, giving this a solid amount to like. Coupled with a surprising amount of restraint for a film about a sleazy sex demon that's quite unexpected, these hold this up for the most part. There are some issues in the film. The biggest factor against this one is a somewhat complex and convoluted storyline that has a bit much going on. The idea of the house being redone and her friends stopping by to help her occasionally is a fine idea, but the various homeowners in the house or the blossoming romance with the cop are somewhat overdone. Both of these tend to make the film feel quite long at points as there's not much in the way of genuine supernatural happenings while the film spells out the identity of the mysterious photographs or shows them going out on dates together, and when added with the subplot about the abusive ex it feels like too much is going on. As well, the other problem here is the ending stinger which makes no real sense and comes off with more of a confusing state than intended after what's been built-up, but otherwise, there isn't much else to dislike here.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Language, Violence and Brief Nudity.

Bad acting, bad story writing, bad visual effects, bad timing

I really am having some hard time believing that those actors get paid for doing this sort of job. The only person who knew how to act, was that blonde girl. And director seems like a person how couldn't even effort a slow Mo camera. After watching the title I wasn't expecting to watch the conjuring, but sometimes I like to watch bad movie just to kill time and that's it. But this movie is so annoying.
