The principal action of "Psycho Stripper" (a.k.a., "Stripped") is the planning of a beautiful wedding ceremony for Amber Clarke, who is about to become Mrs. Owen Mathison. But the lives of the happy couple are disrupted by a crazed male stripper, who appears to want to marry Amber himself.
There was a lively environment created in the dance studio run by Amber. The dance sequences and instruction were made credible by a skilled set of dancers playing the roles of Amber and her friends. It was especially Taryn Belle who was the dynamic centerpiece for the dancing.
My favorite character in the film was Mitchie, one of Amber's close friends. The quick-thinking Mitchie was the first to recognize that Preston Hunter McCain was a complete phony and posed a threat to her good friend Amber. Unfortunately for Mitchie, her perceptive scrutiny of Hunter led to her early exit from the planet and from the film.
The filmmakers attempted to develop how the poor communications between the soon-to-be newlyweds caused friction in their relationship and, above all, allowed Hunter to continue his predatory acts. Owen failed to disclose to Amber the entire story of his previous relationship to Megan and how she had been harassed by a lunatic and died under suspicious circumstances. For her part, Amber could have kept Owen in the loop about how a bizarre exotic male dancer had signed on for her class and was being overly flirtatious. Early in the film, they had the opportunity to put their stories together and recognize the threat that was posed by Hunter.
The close of the film was fairly routine and, curiously, never even elicited a 911 call to the police. In the spectacular setting of a villa, the wedding reception is being carefully planned, when Hunter intrudes on the scene. Two more of Amber's close friends will be the victims of Hunter's psychopathic obsession. If only Amber and Owen had been a little more open with each other, the wedding would have been a joyous, instead of lugubrious, celebration.

The Ordeals of Planning a Wedding
So bad it's laughable.
This is one of those made-for-tv movies that aired on Lifetime that a friend and I happened to catch. It is a story about dance studio instructor Amber Clarke, soon to be wed, finding herself getting caught in the obsession of exotic male dancer Hunter from her bachelorette party, who will stop at nothing to keep her from tying the knot.
It's a mindless movie with a silly plot that seems to blend in elements of teenage date & slasher flicks and soap opera drama, but only with worst acting. There are predictable moments in the movie, but you get a good dose of intrigue and thrills here and there.
Every character is so put-together, neatly groomed, and polished it seems the filmmakers didn't even try to insert some realism in it. The men dancers make good eye candy for the ladies, but the women are portrayed like spoiled, rich brats.
But again, as with the acting, it is so bad that you couldn't help but laugh. You won't see this movie winning any Emmys, but it sure gives you some mindless fun to pass the time with.
Grade C+
Typical LMN movie
It was the typical Lifetime movie. Naive people who always blind to what's right there staring at them in the face. The birth was way off and to far fetched to be believable. If the birth was believable it would have been better.
