I must admit I was a bit put off by some of the low ratings on IMDB but I decided to watch this little indipendent movie anyway. Of course It's not flawless but it delivered in its own way. One of the things I liked most is how good the acting can get in such a small low budget movie, especially the one of the main character. Outstanding performance. The story itself is a bit thin and could have benefited of more development but the idea is good and I think the director does a good job at keeping the viewer interested covering a delicate subject as sex slavery without going overboard with explicit violent and sex imagery. He is not aiming to shock anyone just for the sake of it. As the Guardian said, the story is a bit weak, probably due to the limitations that this type low budget films face, however I found interesting how the dreadful experience triggers a transformation into the main character who does not succumb to her baiters. Instead finds hope and strength in music. I will say no more about the plot.

There is some really nice drone camera work over L. A. and some skillful editing work too. As for the music, I am not a huge rap or hip hop fan but I guess those who are will enjoy the movie better than me.

How did they get the money to make this dreck?

I nearly laughed as the small wanne be rapist makes his move on the sumo ringer ehh.. I mean the actress...one hit from her and he would be in coma.
