Okay, well first of all I must admit to not being much of a fan of the superhero genre. That being said, then I did decide to sit down and watch "Reign of the Supermen" when my 8 year old son asked me if we could watch it.

So I entered "Reign of the Supermen" with no expectations. And it turned out that I was actually adequately entertained by the end result of this 2019 animated DC movie. Why? Well, because it was definitely action-packed and crammed with an abundance of fighting. Did I enjoy the storyline? No, not particularly much. I can't claim that having a bunch of variant supermen milling about to be overly interesting.

The animation and art style in "Reign of the Supermen" was actually one of the better things about this 2019 animated movie, because it was quite good. It was dynamic and kept in a very interesting art style. That definitely helped keep the animated movie afloat.

As for it being an animated movie, then having a proper voice acting performance is Alpha and Omega. Luckily they had secured that for this 2019 animated movie. I must admit that it was enjoyable with this various individual actors and actresses they had to perform the various characters and roles throughout the story.

Is "Reign of the Supermen" an animated movie that I will return to watch a second time? Definitely not. Because it just doesn't have enough contents to its script and storyline to support a second viewing for me. I suppose it is because I am not a fan of the superhero genre, so it have very little appeal to me.

My first movie of 2019 that I've seen and I can say that I didn't like it. It was very messy. Too many plot jumps...

When it comes to comic books I've always been a Marvel guy, but when it came to the best story arcs DC took the top two. Batman: Knightfall and the Death of Superman/World Without Superman/Return Of Superman set.

Based on this as you can imagine I was excited about possible adaptations, yet at the same time very hesitant and concerned they wouldn't be able to do them justice.

Superman: Doomsday (2007) was a mess, totally missed the point of the original story so when The Death of Superman (2018) was announced I assumed it would be the same. It wasn't, but it was still a very compacted loose adaptation that simply wasn't up to standard. Reign of the Superman? It's going to be awful I assumed, and yeah it kind of is.

As a take your brain out forget the comic book it would still be pretty mediocre but taking into consideration it's source material it's an absolute slap in the face to the fans. This isn't the Return of Superman story line, they've added characters who simply weren't there, they've changed peoples motivations, basically 90%+ is all original stuff that has nothing to do with the comic.

Fine, you couldn't possibly do a story of that size in a 90 minute movie but they didn't have to change it so dramatically! Could they not simply have condensed it?

It's just a Saturday morning cartoon effort that loosely touches upon the original story but quite frankly makes a mockery of it.

Has almost nothing to do with the original material
