Stumbling upon the 2012 animated movie "Scooby-Doo! Spooky Games" in 2022, I opted to sit down with my 11 year old son to watch it as we hadn't already seen this particular "Scooby-Doo" tale before.
Running at only 22 minutes, this animated movie felt rather short and rushed. The story hardly started before it ended, so that was somewhat disappointing. That being said, then it should also be noted that writer Mark Banker managed to put together a story that was very fitting in the "Scooby-Doo" franchise, for better or worse.
Sure, you can say that if you have seen one "Scooby-Doo" movie then you have effectively seen them all. But there is just something nostalgic about these Hanna-Barbera animated movies that works still, even for me now as an adult.
The art and animation style is definitely in the spirit of the traditional "Scooby-Doo" stories, so you know what you are in for when you sit down to watch the 2012 "Scooby-Doo! Spooky Games" animated movie.
As always, they have a great voice cast ensemble for these animated movies, with recurring performances by Frank Welker, Matthew Lillard, Grey Griffin and Mindy Cohn. So there is a good sense of familiarity and continuity to these stories.
If you enjoy "Scooby-Doo" then this 2012 animated movie is certainly something for you.
I found it to be just another run-of-the-mill "Scooby-Doo" movie, however, and the short run time just didn't leave me overly entertained. As such, then "Scooby-Doo! Spooky Games" lands on a mediocre five out of ten stars.

a great episode for a great special
scooby doo in spooky games.
Scooby and the gang are in London having fun with the crowd scenery which is always great no matter what well until an ancient statue comes and wrecks havoc in the games.
In this special you'll see all sorts of gags goofs and even splats not to mention scooby doo and the gang including shaggy pole vaulting.
Get into this awesome scooby doo special everyone.
Nothing special
I thought this episode was dull. It's always fun to see what ideas they come up with for Scooby but this one was just boring. The whole idea of Shaggy being a runner and getting into the Olympics was really funny. I think the bad part was it being only twenty minutes. It felt wasted. Overall, this special was just not worth my time.
