Quaintly believing that every film deserves at least one review I decided to take one for the team and give Maruhi honeymoon: Boko ressha a viewing. Yes, it is everything the title implies, a young bride is abducted and then repeatedly attacked, beginning with her husband at their wedding, and then along the way by nearly everybody she comes in contact with as she and her captors attempt to get away from the police via a freight train boxcar.
That's pretty much all you need to know, it is what it is. Stylistically it's very much of the period and technically it is competent within the reduced expectations of a repellent low rent Japanese genre film. It makes me sad that there was an audience for something like this, let alone that somebody was compelled to make it. Know what you're getting into before attempting this one as it is thoroughly unpleasant for anybody but the target demographic.
Plot summary
Two trivial criminals, who escape the pursuers to the church where they take the newly arrested bride, ride a moving train whose empty freight car provides a hiding place for them.
